I completed 2 separate assignments during my time with Express Employment Professionals.The first was working as a shipper/receiver. I was responsible for packaging, managing inventory and warehousing items. I also coordinated with sales associates to ship and receive (by return authorization process) sold merchandise through international and local couriers (ie: UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) using their various online and paper-based shipping systems.The second was providing sales, inside sales, customer service, and delivery support of interior commercial building supplies (drywall, steel studs, and ceiling tiles) to customers.I worked as part of a team that coordinated and sometimes assisted with daily customer deliveries to job sites with a fleet of vehicles that consisted of 2 crane trucks, 2 flatbed trucks, and a pickup truck.

Freezer DepartmentAs a Reach Truck forklift driver was responsible for taking received pallets from the dock and safely putting them away in the correct locations in the warehouse. Onboard RF scanner is used to determine pallet locations.Perishable DepartmentAssembled and staged orders for various Loblaw brand stores throughout Ontario (ie: Real Canadian Super Store, Zehrs Markets, No Frills, etc.) consisting of produce, dairy items, and fresh/packaged meat. Replenished pallets of product for assembly, and put away/staging pallets in racking from the receiving dock using a counterbalance forklift or reach truck forklift.

Daily responsibilities are to repair wooden pallets to specifications provided. Safe handling of power tools: -Compressed Air Nail Gun -Reciprocating Saw (saws-all) -other power and hand toolsCurrent shift is regular overnight midnight shift. 12:00 am to 8:00 am (Sunday Night - Friday Morning)

Daily responsibilities and projects ranged from commercial to residential as well as both interior and exterior work. All work required safe handling and operation of various handheld power tools as well as truck, mini-excavator, cement mixer, ATV, and hydraulic lift tandem trailer. Interior projects have included: Laminate floor installation, drywall and counter top installation, bathroom fixture and shower installation Exterior projects included: Construction of detached garage (excavation, concrete block foundation, framing, window and door installation, and siding), roofing (repair as well as replacing asphalt/fiberglass shingles on single homes), tree and stump removal, concrete paver installation, cement block and wood retaining walls,as well as loading and transporting excavated material for disposal.

I helped people use and understand the Banking Products and Services offered by TD Canada Trust, primarily through the lens of the Small Business Banking division. Some advice is simple and straight forward, while sometimes the details were a little more complex.

A more in-depth approach to personal banking. Met with clients on an appointment basis to discuss and arrange both long and short term investment needs, as well as unsecured and real estate secured credit needs.

Worked in multiple locations through an internal program called "Your Choice", This program was designed to co-ordinate Customer Service Representatives and dispatch them based on expected staffing shortages as well as well as attempt to fill any "emergency" staff shortages where possible. I also traveled to various branches throughout Waterloo Region and Wellington County to training locations and seminars to enhance the skills that would be needed on the job.

I listened to customers to determine the equipment that would best suit their needs, as well as educate them on the products details where appropriate. Focus was mostly in hockey skate fitting and hockey equipment service.Other duties included: skate sharpening, baseball glove and racquet repair, cashier responsibilities, and shipping and receiving duties as required.

TBJ Merchandising is responsible for all aspects of retailing "Official" Major League Baseball licensed goods and apparel for the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club, Toronto Argonauts Football Team (CFL), and various other entertainment events that take place throughout the stadium. This began as a "Field Placement" opportunity through the Durham College Sports Administration Program. I was able to learn and see all aspects of the merchandising operations. I stayed on with this team past the 4 months originally committed to the college program. Although I spent the bulk of my time with the Stadium Events managers, I was also able to learn and participate in all aspects the Merchandise Department was responsible. I even got a chance to try my hand at "in stadium" sales. I was able to sit in Purchasing meetings (Apparel-shirts, jerseys, hats, etc., as well as Hard Goods-pins, keychains, pens, etc.). I also worked with the Warehouse Manager to understand the receiving procedures, storing of goods, issuing goods to stadium vendors prior to and during events (ie: Blue Jays or Argonauts games). I had a chance to participate in managing stock to the retail store located outside Gate 2 and a store location at Commerce Court (in the underground shopping area near King St/Bay St). and learned the in's and out's of "keeping the light's on", with the Maintenance Manager.

I was responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance of all exterior areas at Windermere House. Primary responsibilities were maintaining lawns, particularly the large sloping Signature front lawn in addition to the multiple gardens and flower pots that lined the 100 ft(approx.) stone veranda, decks that accompanied the townhouse style suites and outdoor pool area. I Contributed to several large capital project undertakings as Windermere House was in the process of continuing to rebuild after a devastating fire during the onsite filming of a major Hollywood Motion Picture. I was involved in:- the installation of the automatic irrigation system - the process of the demolition of the existing maintenance garage- setup of temporary staff accommodations- reconfiguration and preparation of customer and staff parking lots for resurfacing
