I initially gathered information on the current provision of badminton in the Grampian region. Once this audit was complete the strategic plan for the next four years was drawn up and work started on advancing the sport in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

Initially employed by Inverclyde Council and seconded to Renfrewshire Council two days per week I split my time between Greenock and Paisley. At my secondary school in Greenock I set up a health & wellbeing team and achieved a clean sweep at the Inverclyde Games, which I helped plan, organise and deliver - an event involving thousands of pupils and every school in the authority. In my Paisley primary schools I ran more clubs than had ever been run before.After a year full-time in Renfrewshire the stats read as follows:• 60 clubs running across my six schools, plus six community clubs• Distinct participants doubled from the previous year• Activity sessions increased by 27% from the previous year• Participant sessions increased by 2,200 (26%) from previous yearBut more than the stats, the highlight for me was being part of the Local Athletics Partnership. We, in partnership with the local club and SGB, ran six large athletics events throughout the year – a road race, a cross-country and a track & field championship for both Primary and Secondary. We saw over 1,000 young people at these events and many went on to national competitions. In my final year I took the lead on the Primary track & field and it was a great success.

In my short time as the CTO for Kilmarnock Harriers I helped start the auditing process to establish a baseline of data in order to drive the club forward and help it become one of the fastest growing in the country.

I delivered sport specific coaching to thousands of children and young people in schools and clubs as well as offering personal tennis coaching and fitness instruction. I also provided strength & conditioning work for high level athletes in a variety of sports and training opportunities for young people. I worked in partnership with local authorities, businesses, schools and hotels and organised the financial side of the business.

I oversaw the multifaceted youth and community work at SBBC involving 15 different clubs/meetings that catered for hundreds of young people. This involved the recruitment of volunteers and ensuring their happiness and motivation by giving positive feedback, giving over ownership of the programme and always being willing to listen. A highlight of my time would be the FUEL social-action trips I organised from start to finish.

In my time with Campaigner Ministries UK I supported our 21 centres, delivered presentations, raised thousands of pounds for the organisation and developed solid relationships with key partners. After a year of employment, the job changed dramatically and, with no formal business training, it became necessary for me to establish Campaigner Ministries Scotland as a separate organisation - this required formulating a business plan, putting the appropriate structures in place, meeting with OSCR representatives and ensuring our members were supported throughout the process.
