    Orlando, Florida, United States
I worked as the principal designer at Purple Rock Scissors, a strategic creative agency based in Orlando. At Purple, I crafted design experiences for clients such as Meta, 1Password, DC Comics and Disney. I helped to lead a diverse and talented creative team with the specific remit to ensure consistency and quality across the agency’s user experience and visual design practices. • University Of Florida College Of Medicine
    Senior Product Designer
University Of Florida College Of Medicine Feb 2017 - Jan 2020
    Orlando, Florida, United States
Over the course of three years, I worked on creating a digital learning environment for radiologists at the University of Florida. I designed a suite of educational tools for medical imaging residents across the United States to assess their competency and address any deficiencies in their learning. From defining the visual identity of the program to leveraging user insights and crafting the final expression of the product, each step of the way I led the effort to establish the vision and ensure a compelling user experience.
  • Adobe
    Lead Designer
    Adobe Sep 2018 - Aug 2019
    Orlando, Florida, United States
I worked for Adobe embedded in the open source team focused on the unification of the organization’s developer ecosystem and later the visual redesign of its developer portal. This work was guided by the principle of leveraging generative layout and art to simplify the authoring workflow for creating documentation, which at the time was an inventive concept. Alongside reimagining the publishing platform, the project also explored integrating a learning management system to help reduce onboarding friction and contribute to developer success through client-side interactivity and features such as progress tracking and context-aware code samples.
  • Jane & Jury
    Co-Founder
    Jane & Jury Sep 2016 - Sep 2018
    Paris, Ontario, Canada
My wife and I founded and ran a design studio in our hometown of Paris, Ontario. We offered a wide range of creative and strategic services for brands, companies, foundations and other remarkable organizations. We were fortunate to collaborate with clients such as the Mozilla Foundation and the United Nations, as well as with some of our favorite local businesses and our county tourism board. Running parallel with client services, we hosted community workshops teaching digital skills and a frequently sold-out lecture series that featured local artisans. Over the course of 2 years and 20 events, the audience grew from a handful of attendees to crowds of more than 150 with waiting lists.
  • Ecentricarts Inc.
    Director Of Innovation
    Ecentricarts Inc. Apr 2013 - Apr 2014
    Toronto
As the client roster at ecentricarts (now merged into Reason One) grew to include large multinational corporations such as Entertainment One, Shred-It and YMCA, the creative department headcount increased with new designer and information architect hires. I was promoted to the role of Director of Innovation to help lead the agency through this period of growth. I worked cross-functionally alongside the Creative Director and Director of Application Development to identify new technologies, emerging creative trends and process refinements to improve productivity and elevate production quality.I worked to bolster the agency brand, through producing and editing a new company reel, redesigning our portfolio, investing in content creation for social channels and improving our sales decks. I traveled with our CEO and CTO to pitch new work across Canada and the United States, leading client discovery workshops in house and presenting research and development findings through company lunch and learn sessions.I continued to contribute to client work while also focusing on building the agency's reputation. I hosted creative community meetups in our office space, organized sponsorship for local DEI initiatives and entered competitions and collected awards for our work.
  • Ecentricarts Inc.
    Interactive Designer And Developer
    Ecentricarts Inc. Feb 2009 - Apr 2013
    Toronto, Ontario, Canada
I began my role at ecentricarts working chiefly as a front-end developer on HTML, CSS and Javascript projects to implement custom designs for Canadian clients in both the Arts and Culture and Not-for-profit sectors. I worked on projects for clients such as Kids Help Phone, the Canadian Red Cross, the Munk Debates and the Rick Mercer Report for the CBC. I earned a reputation in the agency as a developer keen on inter-department collaboration and committed to executing design with an eye for detail and flourish that made for a compelling end user experience. As I began to specialize in UX design, I spent less time writing custom code for content management systems and more time in Adobe's creative suite prototyping design concepts and finessing user interaction ideas. Eventually I relocated to the creative department fulltime and also began producing wireframes, designing both web and mobile layouts and crafting brand identities. I continued to stay on top of web development trends and split my time between coding and designing, often having a hand in each stage of a project's lifecycle all the way from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Fantastic Thinking (Engine Group)
    Interactive Developer
Fantastic Thinking (Engine Group) Sep 2006 - Dec 2008
    London, England, United Kingdom
I worked as an interactive developer at Fantastic Thinking, a successful digital agency based in London, England, later acquired by Engine Group. During my time at the agency I discovered my passion for front-end development and honed my skillset in both client-side and server-side technologies. I worked in both the engineering and creative departments on projects for multinational clients including Gillette, Vodafone, Chevrolet, GlaxoSmithKline and Yahoo.Although the majority of my responsibility was concerned with bringing creative vision to life through code, I successfully extended my role into a designer-developer hybrid position. Alongside creating original assets in videography and animation, I was also fortunate to explore other industry disciplines including pitching new work to clients, conducting user research in the field and contributing to the agency's marketing strategy.
  • Tascomp
    Software Engineer
    Tascomp Sep 2003 - Sep 2004
    Billingham, England, United Kingdom
As a part of my Computer Science degree at the University of Teesside, I worked a year fulltime in industry before finishing my studies. I was placed at an international software house based in the North of England, where I designed, commissioned and installed bespoke Software Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. It was coding operator screens for a clean room environment I had engineered for a cockpit assembly line where I first discovered my love for interface design.
