Levitech is a global player in solar, semiconductor and other high-tech industries. As a spin-off of ASM International, Levitech was established in 2009 and provides atomic layer deposition (ALD) and rapid thermal processing (RTP) production equipment. My main activities at Levitech:- Project manager for delivering and qualifying a high-volume atomic layer deposition (ALD) manufacturing system for production of tandem solar cells- Develop novel ALD processes for solar and battery applications

Process development engineer within the Thin Film Coating / Research department at Meyer Burger (Netherlands) B.V.- Project manager for sheet-to-sheet atomic layer deposition (ALD) systems, i.e. optimize from prototype towards customer qualified R&D deposition tool - Project engineer for high volume roll-to-roll ALD production system, e.g. design vapour gas supply system, qualify slot die coating systems, design P&ID diagrams- Develop and optimize PECVD processes for SiNx and SiO2 layers for (flexible) moisture barriers- and semiconductor applications incl. system installations

As Research Scientist within the Optics group at Philips Research I work on projects related to novel architectures and manufacturing techniques for LED lighting:- Designing novel optics for LED lighting and validate design by ray-tracing- Contribute to optimizing a 3D printing process and understand underlying chemistry using liquid silicones and acrylics for optics (additive manufacturing)- Design, test and characterise in-house made micro-optical structures for illumination optics; measure topology and determine light distribution - Explore a possible supply chain for low cost micro-optical components

OM&T was spun out from Philips Optical Storage in 2007 and became the European R&D centre of Moser Baer India for Blu-ray, photovoltaics and OLED. My activities involved:- Lead in technology development projects between the 1 and 3 fte - Scouting new business opportunities for our (nano-) imprint technology- Independently developed in-house hetero-junction crystalline silicon (c-Si hit) solar cell process of 20% efficiency; process included wet-chemical cleaning, thin film PECVD & PVD deposition and contact printing at Philips MiPlaza cleanroom- Develop in-house thin film silicon dual junction 10% solar cell process (a-Si/µc-Si) used for optimizing light trapping textured substrates with periodic diffraction gratings made by nano-imprinting lithography- Work presented at national- and European conferences

- Optimizing nano-imprinted texture for light trapping in thin film solar cells- Developing in-house thin film silicon tandem solar cell process

- Product owner (quality assurance) of produced commercial BD-R discs- Develop and qualify single- and dual layer Blu-Ray Recordable (BD-R) discs- Blu-ray Disc (BD) technology transferred to mother company Moser Baer India, which is the 2nd largest optical disc manufacturer; assist with the start of mass-production and help to set up quality assurance during several visits (7wks total)- Managing BD disc-drive qualification with Asian drive manufacturers, ensuring an optimal compatibility between our discs and all BD drives in the market
