Responsible for developing IT and Bioinformatics budget, infrastructure and strategy for a prestigious bio-tech company.As part of the senior management group, Mark's remit was to collaborate at all levels of the company, to identify and deliver key enterprise systems, bespoke software and custom bioinformatics analysis. Key parts of the strategy, delivered on or below budget, were an electronic notebook (ELN), flexible data analysis pipeline (IDBS) and robust VM based IT architecture.In addition to this work Mark was responsible creating custom bioinformatics tools to analyse population variants (1000 Genomes) in immune system loci and other data analysis including sequence assembly, comparative genomics and gene target profiling. This work provided Kymab with an excellent, stable and flexible infrastructure supporting the company during a rapid growth and development phase. Joined the well established Medical Genetics Laboratories at Baylor College of Medicine, dedicated to providing the medical genetics community with high quality comprehensive genetic testing services.
