Earthquakes, hurricanes, and other "Extreme Events" cause billions of dollars in damages and economic losses each year. Managing these "low-frequency, high-impact" events often means the difference between survival and profitable growth. This exposure to risk must be managed in order to drive profitability and inform strategic decisions, especially in regard to risk transfer. I work with companies to assess the business problems created by exposure to these large-scale events and develop solutions that drive resilience and profitability.When I'm not helping my clients understand risk, I enjoy coaching (and watching) soccer, reading poetry, traveling, practicing new languages, and drinking locally roasted, v60-kettle-brewed coffee.
