About Mark T. Deprez

With every fiber of my being I believe in the role of legacy media to build, grow and elevate brands. Which is why I'm excited to be part of the Brownfield Ag News National Account team. Previous to Brownfield I spent over eight years with Farm Journal. My journey with Farm Journal began as a consultant and concluded as Vice President Sales, Producer Media. I had a front row seat as Farm Journal transitions from media to a data company providing Data Driven Performance Marketing Solutions to their clients.Among my accomplishments at Farm Journal:• In first year with the AgriTalk Radio Network grew revenue 2.5X.• In first year with AgriTalk cut affiliate compensation while growing total number of affiliates.• With AgriTalk accomplished ratings, revenue, affiliate and NOI records.• Because of AgriTalk success, expanded revenue management role to include TV.• Managed broadcast pricing and inventory exceeding budgets without selling out inventory.• Managed broadcast pricing and inventory resulting in record revenue.• Broadcast revenue success led to revenue management role to include all Farm Journal Platforms. • Introduced Account List Management System (KEY, TARGET, SECONDARY, EXTRA).• Led efforts to transition the sale org to new Lead to Cash system (Naviga).     In January of 2012 I was promoted to COO of Pathfinder Communications Corporation. Pathfinder operates under the Federated Media umbrella. In my role as COO I oversaw all seven of the Federated Media radio brands in Fort Wayne and Auburn, Indiana. In the final month of my tenure as COO the following was accomplished:In April 2012 we dropped the classic rock brand at our Fort Wayne cluster to simulcast News Talk 1190 on 92.3 FM. In July 2012 we accomplished the following with one less brand, one less sales department, and without Arbitron ratings.• July Operating Cash Flow up 17%• July sales up 21% while market was up 18%• Grew July market share from 67.4% to 68.8% (replacing classic rock July ’11 share of 8.4%)• For seventh consecutive month, Federated Media Fort Wayne ranks 1-2-3-4 in sales per Hungerford audit (July ’12)• Transactional Sales Department grew July ‘12 sales 50% over July ‘11 without Arbitron Ratings• 2012 so far: Almost three quarters of a million dollars in Interactive Sales (106.7% of Budget)In August of 2012 Federated Pathfinder and Talking Stick divisions combined resulting in the elimination of the Pathfinder COO position.This just in: Inside Radio reports that industry revenue rose 4% in November. The team I built in Fort Wayne was up 17% and Indiana was not a swing state!
