In addition to my role as Vice President, General Manager, of Farm Journal Radio, I took on the role of Vice President, Director of Sales, of Farm Journal Broadcasting including all brands, radio and TV. In my role as VP/DOS I work closely with our staff of twenty enterprise and national account managers (Row Crop, Livestock and Inside Sales) to present broadcast solutions as part of an integrated media mix. Our nationally syndicated programs include; AgDay, U.S. Farm Report, Machinery Pete TV, AgriTalk, American Countryside and The Farm Journal Report. In 2017 we achieved record ad sales.

In my role as COO I oversaw all seven of the Federated Media radio brands in Fort Wayne and Auburn, Indiana. In the final month of my tenure as COO the following was accomplished:In April 2012 we dropped the classic rock brand at our Fort Wayne cluster to simulcast News Talk 1190 on 92.3 FM. In July 2012 we accomplished the following with one less brand, one less sales department, and without Arbitron ratings.• July Operating Cash Flow up 17%• July sales up 21% while market was up 18%• Grew July market share from 67.4% to 68.8% (replacing classic rock July ’11 share of 8.4%)• For seventh consecutive month, Federated Media Fort Wayne ranks 1-2-3-4 in sales per Hungerford audit (July ’12)• Transactional Sales Department grew July ‘12 sales 50% over July ‘11 without Arbitron Ratings• 2012 so far: Almost three quarters of a million dollars in Interactive Sales (106.7% of Budget)In August of 2012 Federated Pathfinder and Talking Stick divisions combined resulting in the elimination of the Pathfinder COO position.This just in: Inside Radio reports that industry revenue rose 4% in November. The team I built in Fort Wayne was up 17% and Indiana was not a swing state!
