Mark Thomson is a Managing Director with Scyne Advisory. As an economist and accountant Mark has a particular passion for how the understanding of markets, legislation, regulation, rational choice and increasingly an understanding of human behaviour can help open opportunities.Mark's combined experience and expertise has seen him play a key role in transformational projects across a variety of sectors: - Energy Reform: Lead commercial advisor on Tesla/Neoen 'Big battery' in Jamestown, solar developments and offtake arrangements, broad technology support (inc, hydrogen, pumped hydro, home battery, VPP, bioenergy, thermal storage). - Social Sector Reform: Supporting the development of SA's Housing and Homeless strategy (including industry engagement), human services access model efficiency, aged care strategy, and enhancing community engagement and education. - Government Services Reform: Developing scoping studies and processes to support private sector involvement in service provision including insurance, registries, commercialisation, child care, forestry, real estate, and pathology.- Infrastructure Development and operation: Lead advisor on the business case for final stage of North South Corridor ($15.4b), Advisor on South Australian High Productivity Vehicle and Freight Strategy, advisor on Victorian Desalination Project ($3b), Gladstone Ports Operation, plus smaller projects across rail, ports, water, precincts and corrections.- Market development: Export development strategies and investment attraction strategies.- Process improvement: With blue chip companies including BHP, Origin and NAB, all levels of Government and the SME sector. Mark also works with industry and communities through roles such as the Treasurer of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (SA) and formerly Power Community Limited
