Product Designer
Turmoil being a small business environment, I wear many hats. As the Product Designer, my primary responsibility is to design cabinets, plumbing systems, and refrigeration systems for our core product: custom industrial fluid chillers. I also write programs for the laser cutting and bending machines for our sheet metal components. In addition to my design duties, I work on leveraging our manufacturing capabilities to diversify our business and explore new revenue streams, particularly by addressing the sheet metal manufacturing needs of local businesses. I am actively involved in modernizing our core product lines using lean manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and standardization. This includes integrating data into our new ERP system to boost analytics and productivity.I've also been cross-trained in running the laser cutter and bending machine, as well as some plumbing assembly. This hands-on experience not only helps me top better understand and improve my designs, but also to develop work instructions, policies, and procedures to support business expansion and the on-boarding of new employees.
Adjunct Professor
I am teaching the SPDI 321: Advanced SOLIDWORKS and 3D CADD at Keene State for the Sustainable Product Design & Innovation (SPDI) program
Design Engineer
I've often described NH Design as an "R&D department for hire". Here I worked directly with clients in industries from bio-med to automotive to large scale packaging plants. These clients came to us with projects in every stage of development, whether they had nothing but an idea and a back of the napkin sketch, or a working prototype they needed redesigned for manufacture. I helped clients develop products through concept and design, and securing patents; building prototypes, rapidly working through iterations with the use of SOLIDWORKS, 3D printing, and CNC machining, as well as life cycle testing units; and helped them bring their products to market, finding vendors and manufacturers for scaled production. The majority of my time was spent one-on-one with one of our two major clients, working on grant funded medical device projects from a novel skin grafting device to ventilators.
Student Researcher
One of two researchers at Keene State working a joint research project on 3D Bio-Printing with UNH and Dartmouth during the summer of 2020, then again during the winter and spring of 2021. There I worked to code the printer, test bio-inks, and designed and prototyped a new co-axial nozzle capable of printing hollow tubes with the potential to act similarly to capillaries for nutrient delivery to cells inside printed structures.
