Mark Troen, Senior Vice President of Brookwood Group, manages the firm’s operations in the Eastern United States and brings a broad investment perspective to its development projects and real estate advisory services practice nationwide. He also serves as managing principal of Brookwood’s affiliate, The Winnmark Group. He serves on Brookwood’s Operations Committee and has broad responsibilities throughout Brookwood’s organization including the identification of development opportunities for Brookwood Equities and strategic real estate services for private investors, corporate entities and the public sector with Brookwood Advisors.Mark has experience in all aspects of real estate investment, development and management, including: acquisitions and dispositions; financings and re-financings; asset repositioning, workouts and restructurings; management, leasing, marketing and sales; and construction, redevelopment and new development. He has a multi-disciplinary educational and professional background, with an MBA from the Wharton School and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Harvard College, AB cum laude, while majoring in economics.

Mr. Troen teaches graduate-level real estate development, economics, and market analysis in the Master of Real Estate Development + Urbanism (MRED+U) program of the University of Miami School of Architecture. He also co-teaches studios in the Master of Urban Design (MUD), Master of Construction Management (MCM) and Master of Architecture (MArch) programs and guest lectures at the School of Architecture and Law School. He is the Lead Faculty for the University of Miami Real Estate Research Initiative that surveys South Florida real estate professionals and mentors the graduate student team that assembles, conducts, and presents the findings at the annual University of Miami Real Estate Impact Conference.

Mr. Troen was Chief Development Officer at Monday Properties, where he was recruited to develop new properties, redevelop existing assets, market fee-generating services, revitalize a troubled loft conversion, plan signature developments, and source new acquisitions for a 7 million square foot New York and Washington, DC office, residential and mixed-use portfolio.

At the height of the last real estate depression (1990-1995), he maximized returns and created profits on a $1 Billion portfolio far above and beyond book value recovery.

Mr. Troen got his start in the real estate business at Security Pacific Realty Advisory Services, creating innovative acquisition and disposition strategies in the opportunistic sector and directing multi-disciplinary teams in land development and building projects nationwide.
