An author, researcher, and registered professional electrical engineer (Pr. Eng) with vast experience in renewable energy and distribution network aspects. He holds an MSc degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cape Town, and a BSc degree (honours) in electrical engineering from the University of Namibia. He also holds a certificate in Advanced Project Management from the University of Cape Town. He has demonstrated skills in Digsilent Powerfactory, Microstation-Bentley, AutoCAD, Matlab, Microsoft Word & Excel, PVsyst, Helioscope, Homer Grid, and Sunny Design Pro.He played a vital role in the formulation and compilation of grid interconnection requirements for distributed generations (DG) for Erongo RED (SSEG application form and Guideline). He introduced the dead grid safety lock (central disconnection requirement) for DGs in Erongo RED's grid interconnection requirements, which is key to ensuring the safety of personnel and customers. Additionally, he contributed greatly to the formulation of the Namibian Embedded Generation Standard (EGS). Most importantly, he was key to identifying and creating awareness among the Namibian Electricity Distributors about the technical and financial risks faced by the electricity distribution industry as a result of the implementation of consumer-centric renewable energy policies, namely the Net Metering Rules and Modified Single Buyer Model.His experience is demonstrated in the following areas: 1. Design, construction, and project management of distribution substations (11/0.4 kV); 2. Design, construction, and project management of medium voltage (11 kV, 22 kV, 33 kV) and low voltage (400 V) underground and overhead distribution networks3. Technical and financial feasibility studies for utility-scale battery energy storage4. Technical and financial feasibility studies for both consumer and utility-scale solar-photovoltaic rooftop generation systems.5. Distribution network load flow and short-circuit analysis simulation studies using Digsilent PowerFactory Software (employing tools such as Quasi-Dynamic, Python, and Digsilent Programing Language (DPL)) 6. Compilation of distribution network equipment specifications according to IEC and SANS standards 7. Compilation of specifications for tender documents.8.
