I started as an Import/Export Coordinator, mainly responsible for opening files, data entry of new and existing import and export shipments and documentation of FCL (20’GP/40’GP/ 40’HC/40’OT/Reefer/Flat Racks), LCL (Consol Boxes / Co-Loaders) and Air Shipments. After a year of working in this capacity, I graduated to supervising a team of 3 people in our New Jersey office and 2 people in our back office in India. Duties & Responsibilities:• Monitoring and Supervising entire day-to-day operations i.e. Import and Export of Sea and Air shipments (FCL/LCL)• Arranging Land Transportation (FTL/LTL) throughout the USA• Corresponding with local & international clients with regards to shipping queries• Communicating and maintaining relations with Shipping Lines, Third-Party Logistic Companies and warehouses for rates and services • Scheduling and coordinating both domestic and international transactions through carriers and freight forwarders• Releasing shipments with shipping lines and Warehouses• Setting up bookings and arranging documents such as AES, ISF, COO, HBL, MBL, HAWB, MAWB• Updating upper management on sales leads for imports & exports• Coordinating with various transportation companies to ensure that delivery schedules are met• Communicating with Origin & Destination Agents on status of Sea/Air shipments
