As Technical Director I am responsible for the whole technical operation consisting of Supply Chain Management, Quality Management and R&D. Supply Chain Management consists of the procurement, operations (logistic, industrial engineering and maintenance) and production. Quality Management consists of supplier quality management, incoming inspection and production process quality assurance as well as quality tools and methods. R&D consists of product management, technical management, testing & qualification, application engineering and product certification.

As Team leader in R&D I was on the one hand resposnsible for the firmware development of our system components, consisting of radio modules, integrated radio solutions as well as the receiver solutions of the DIEHL Metering system. On the other hand I was responsible for the meachnical design of all kinds of product components as well as the printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for all electronics. Low power design for our mainly battery power solutions and housing design for potted radio solutions have been just two challanging fields within that range of responsibility. Beside that I have been responsible for key supplier projects development like our batteries, PCBs as well as the microcontroller devices, which are key components of our products.

During this phase of my carreer I experienced various states from HW Engineer to project leader, to and international project leader. Creating products, from the specifciation to the industrialization and follow them over their livetime, even develop the evolvement of the next generation product was a thrilling process every single time. The combination of engineer and project leader as well as the insutrialization of high volume products within this projects have been foundations I can still benefit from today!The responsibility for a customer in the United States and several developments of system components for them was another valuable time, in which I could even more broaden my knowledge and develop my strong customer oriented view, creating ideas and products for a metering system and "sell" it to the customer. During this long term relationship I could of course also develop my sense for intercultural aspects in an international working environment, which have been of great value ever since!

As Trainee I was able to get an impression and gain experience in different business units of DIEHL before I entered my position in DIEHL Metering. I build up a network of people from different DIEHL divisions which exist up to the present and is still a good source of informal information and also gives me the opportunity to exchange experience and opinions on various topics.
