As the founder of Creonia Cells, I lead as a CTO of the company the technical and strategic development of the company

As part of a research project funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), a novel manufacturing process for lithium ion battery cells is being developed within the startup Creonia Cells, which allows increases in storage capacity of up to 50% compared to conventional lithium ion cells. Novel free standing single electrodes, multi layer electrode systems and composites are produced and assembled to battery cells. Together with renowned university research institutions and industrial partners, the basis for the construction of a demonstrator plant for the production of an electrode web product is to be developed.

Creonia is a consulting and development company focused on innovation and innovation management especially for small and mid sized companies. Creonia supports in many areas sich as idea creation, market -, literature- and patent searches, base engineering for new processes, development of business cases and plans, development of demonstrators and proof-of-principles. The core compentencies are the development, the manufacturing and the application of plastics in general and High Performance Plastics in particular such as Polyimides, Polyetherketones and functionalized polymers. The areas of competencies for development, manufacturing, applications and markets are components for batteries and fuel cells, battery separators, films, fibers, membranes, gas separations (Biogas Upgrading), Ultra-, Nanofiltration with solvents (Organic Solvent Nanofiltration OSN), coatings, tribology, and many more.

Gasaufbereitung Himmel GmbH in Korneuburg produces plants for biogas upgrading and thus for the production of biomethane, which can be fed into the natural gas grid or used directly as a fuel as a renewable substitute for natural gas (CNG). Gasaufbereitung Himmel uses the highly efficient SEPURAN process developed by Evonik based on high-performance membranes. I am responsible here for the further development of the process, the optimal integration of the product into the customer's requirements, and the most process-optimized implementation of the technology in an economical and cost-efficient upgrading plant for biogas to biomethane.
