• Helped research and present topics for NNGO Student Professional Development Seminars• Served as lead for the NNGO Ambassadors student group, guiding the group as they planned student activities and as they interacted with community organizations in the Northern Illinois region• Planned events for NNGO students and nonprofit community partners

• Prosecuted misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases such as DUI’s and domestic violence matters• Handled arraignments, pre-trial hearings, motions, dispositions, review hearings, and negotiations• Served as second chair on a misdemeanor trial by assisting with motions, jury selection, giving the opening statement, and questioning a witness on direct examination

• Interviewed clients about their legal needs and synthesized a unique case plan• Drafted court documents (including motions, pleadings, and orders) and client documents• Advocated for clients by solving serious housing issues, including eviction, unsafe living conditions, denial of subsidized housing benefits, and improper shut-off of utilities

• 1 of 17 first-year law students from Illinois law schools selected by the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel to intern with an in-house legal department• Researched and analyzed pertinent statutes and regulations that directly affected JLL• Worked collaboratively with attorneys on projects about complex issues of law in various state and federal jurisdictions

• Performed a wide variety of routine cleaning tasks such as taking out trash and tidying furniture• Performed maintenance on equipment such as replacing light bulbs and painting classrooms

• Visited leaders, institutions, and other Government bodies to improve human rights issues• Designed health and poverty alleviation programs to help under-privileged Cameroonian citizens• Drafted proposals to the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé, Cameroon, to fund nonprofit organizations

• Used data collection and mapping software to compile information received from police reports• Investigated crimes by examining case files and sharing the results with staff in a written report• Developed crime prevention strategies to reduce criminal activity in high crime areas
