Markus has a wide breadth of experience in the construction and design professions. His first job in construction was with an HVAC contractor during summers while in high school. Following graduation, he took a full time position with a chimney and fireplace construction company while attending business classes part time. After 8 years working at that company, and with diminishing interest in the study of finance, Markus left West Tennessee for Knoxville, changed his major to architecture and refocused. Embarking on his architectural career over 15 years ago, Markus continues to build upon his early foundational years in construction. He enjoys opportunities as a Project Manager and Architect of Record to apply practical solutions to difficult problems that inevitably arise in design and construction administration. Firmly believing that the built solution must serve the client and end user with unique and meaningful benefit, and with his perspective as a former contractor, Markus finds himself uniquely poised to meet project goals. His strength in thoughtful problem solving is reflected in his work, and experienced by others as he practices decisively in a deliberate tone of kindness and respect. My Core Strengths:• My first-hand experience beginning in the trenches of construction and transitioning to a Project Manager and Architect of Record on numerous projects affords me unique perspective. I enjoy the ability to translate strategies and solutions to multiple people of widely varying positions and backgrounds.• I am proficient in all phases of architecture firm business, from soliciting new projects through design and construction administration.• I work well with others towards common goals and team success.
