Möbler Studio opened its doors early in 2020. With the help of various freelancers, artists, musicians, voice talent and a supportive client base the studio has produced a variety of different projects for radio, film and social media.

Fuelled by a desire to explore various aspects within the exciting and creative field of design I pursued opportunities in a number of industries, including advertising, marketing, manufacturing, retail and hospitality. This diversity in experience has given me a solid real-world know-how and a unique insight into the nature of design related problem solving.I have done work for companies such as Mugg & Bean, Spar, Multichoice, Discovery andFamous Brands.My design philosophy can be summarised with a quote from the furniture making Shakers: “Don't make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, don't hesitate to make it beautiful.”

Velocity is a leading office furniture manufacturer based in Johannesburg. I am responsible for all design related tasks. This includes the following:• floorplan layouts for space planning,• new designs for custom made items,• photo realistic renderings used for product design proposals,• workshop drawings used for manufacturing.• other related tasks such as photographing products, compilation of design proposal documents etcI'm an experienced user of the following software packages: AutoCAD, Sketchup and V-ray for Sketchup

Togu'na imports and exports African artefacts. Their client base consists of mainly Interior Decorators and Retail shops as well as some retail customers. They sell functional and decorative traditional items for use mainly in a decorating context, which has helped my knowledge and understanding in this industry. As part of a small team I had to fulfil various functions which I enjoyed immensely. I managed processes that involved coordinating staff members. This included the following: - sales - from helping the customer to make his / her selection to packing and arranging shipping. This involved a good understanding of decorators' needs as well as in-depth product knowledge - processing of newly bought stock (including liaising with the workshop / manufacturing side of the business) - photographing of stock and editing of pictures (to email these to clients abroad); - packing of outgoing orders - general problem solving, liaising with clients, replying to emails, sticking to deadlines etc. - managing the showroom floor

What started out as a student job resulted in almost 7 years of experience. Working in the art department on film shoots involved doing interior decorating for TV commercials and movies - work in this capacity included the following: - sourcing of different visual elements within a given framework / style - coordinating collection and delivery of items for shoot days - assisting on set on shoot days - managing staff - budgeting - making sure we stick to the budget
