Mark has extensive experience working with clients and in-house counsel litigating complex commercial disputes including supplier-focused disputes, contract disputes, real estate, landlord-tenant, construction, product liability claims, and other business torts. He has also represented insurers, businesses, and individuals in a variety of negligence, general liability, insurance coverage, premises liability, and personal injury disputes.Mark assists clients with all of their business needs from formation to contracts and commercial dealings, to dispute resolution and litigation, serving as outside general counsel for a number of them. He helps business owners with transactional matters including disposition of entities and real estate, drafting ownership agreements, real estate documents, leases, employment agreements, supply contracts, regulatory issues, and licensing, including liquor and cannabis licensing.Mark also serves on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Wine Collaborative and writes a monthly "Wine Law" column in Collaborative's newsletter to keep readers on top of Michigan law impacting businesses involved in Michigan's wine industry.

Mark Vanneste was a partner in Secrest Wardle’s Troy office and served as the chairperson of the firm’s Motor Vehicle Practice Group. In this role, he directed the strategies and mutual undertakings of the Group, including mentorship of associate attorneys and overseeing all content written for the Practice Group's newsletter, No Fault Newsline. He represented insurers, corporations, and individuals in a variety of No Fault first-party and third-party automobile negligence claims, including claims for uninsured/underinsured motorist benefits.Mr. Vanneste served as Michigan Revisor for AM Best’s Insurance Law Digest. AM Best Company is a global credit rating company serving the insurance industry. The Insurance Law Digest is a resource providing a summary of insurance laws for each state and several Canadian Provinces. Mr. Vanneste was responsible for annually reviewing and summarizing insurance laws in Michigan for the publication.Mark Vanneste was named to the list of Michigan Rising Stars in Super Lawyers magazine for 2014-2016.Mr. Vanneste earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Michigan State University in 2002. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2009.While in law school, Mr. Vanneste was a senior editor for the Law Review, was an active member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates, and won the 2008 Gallagher Moot Court Competition.Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Vanneste represented hospitals and health care providers in medical malpractice litigation.Mr. Vanneste was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2009 and subsequently to the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.
