CurrentBoutique law firm providing specialized outside general counsel with a focus on privacy, technology, and strategic business operations across various industries from SaaS providers to content distribution platforms to AI visionaries.• Legal and Strategic Guidance: Offer expert counsel to C-suite executives and large enterprises with a focus on strategic integration of AI and evolving technologies to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.• Privacy and Compliance Strategy: Acts as lead counsel on privacy compliance for global clients, addressing GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA, TCPA, and HIPAA. Draft, negotiate, and review Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and other global privacy regulations and include consultation on the US Data Privacy Framework. Advise on implementing Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default principles in product and service development. Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to evaluate and mitigate privacy risks. Provide training to C-suite executives and teams on privacy compliance and data governance, including product development, marketing, and sales. Manage internal audits of privacy protocols to match regulations. Develop and enforce incident response plans to manage data breaches, and ensure timely notifications to affected individuals and regulators.• Cross-Functional Counseling: Provide legal and regulatory guidance to business units, including sales, marketing, finance, product, legal, and engineering teams, on identifying and addressing issues related to data governance and AI-driven products and services.• Technology and Licensing Models: Design and implement robust business and licensing models for technology platforms, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. Oversee the design, deployment, and management of Master Service Agreement (MSA) frameworks, handle the licensing and acquisition of data, and optimize AI integration across the company’s digital footprint.
