His key projects included: 1. pH Measuring system Due to pH electrode quality issue from the vendor, the Siemens Manufacturing group was potentially facing interruption to the manufacturing supply chain. Originally, Mark was given the task to assist an Engineer in procuring an alternate electrode. However, Mark took the project and ran with it. He: a. Worked with the vendor to identify the quality issue, and identify an alternate/equivalent electrode. b. Performed engineering studies, and presented his findings to management. c. Modified manufacturing work instructions to add operations/maintenance guide for new electrode. d. Trained multiple End Users and turned the pH system to Manufacturing. Mark single-handedly brought this project to closure. 2. Antibody Purification – Manufacturing Capacity Study This is one of the complicated, and least understood manufacturing processes at our site. Mark was assigned to perform a capacity study, and he: a. Mapped each process (80+ processes) i. Identified all inputs and outputs b. Established cycle times, and working with manufacturing personnel to identify gaps between theoretical, and actual cycle time c. Identified number of systems/equipment necessary to sustain the manufacturing operation.
