In this role, I manage all aspects of the IT datacenter and network infrastructure which includes our multiple office/datacenter locations (10 total, both nationally and internationally). Leveraging investments in leading technologies such as VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), AWS and Azure, Cisco and Palo Alto Networks next-generation security products (and more), our group supports the rapidly growing base of 1,000+ employees comprised of licensed U.S.-based Medicare sales agents, Cybersecurity and Development teams, and corporate team members.

Genius Central (now part of SPS Commerce) is a SaaS provider in the supply chain of the natural and specialty grocery industry. They emphasize cloud-based technology providing an essential connection between retailers, brokers, and suppliers. I was a senior engineer for Infrastructure on a DevOps team utilizing Agile Methodologies for our iterative processes. Some infrastructure highlights and accomplishments include:• Major P2V migration (Physical to Virtual) from old datacenter infrastructure to new datacenters in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA• Building our new production and development infrastructure at the new datacenters from the ground up• New VMware and SAN (NetApp) implementations at the TPA and ATL datacenters• Implementation of all our systems monitoring services, and integrated with Slack for alerts• Creation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans with replication offsite from TPA to ATL• Later, completed another full migration to the AWS Cloud from our TPA/ATL datacenters (finished Nov 2020)• AWS concepts used: IAM, EC2, ECS, Load Balancers, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, Lambdas • Multiple SQL Server Migrations and Consolidations (SQL 2000, 2005, 2008, 2012 -> 2016 -> AWS RDS)• Office 365 Administration with Advanced Threat Protection (Defender) and Azure management• Implementation of vulnerability scanning of our systems through Trustwave• Implementation of SendGrid email delivery service into our systems

I began at Pyramid (now Atos) which was comprised of 300+ employees working both onsite in Clearwater, and remotely all over the country (datacenters in Clearwater, FL and Bethlehem, PA). We were purchased by Anthelio, and I accepted additional responsibilities on the larger Anthelio corporate network of 1,300 end users with datacenters in Missouri, Texas, Michigan and India. TRA, Inc. is a safety consulting/software company in downtown Philadelphia, as I came to work there for an opportunity with my former IT mentor. I was part of a dynamic small development team for our company’s software product, IndustrySafe. This software is a SaaS application for use in tracking OSHA and other safety/training-related information for companies. • Helped to spearhead the transition and migration of our product from older versions and outdated technologies (VB6, classic ASP, Crystal 8.5, older versions of Oracle) to new and current versions / technologies (VB.NET, ASP.NET, Crystal Reports, etc).• New VMware implementations in an environment that had no prior virtualization technologies or experience• Determined hardware specifications and purchase of new web and database servers as our client base grew.• Creation of new modules in IndustrySafe and major enhancements to existing modules• Several web and database optimizations for a faster and more pleasant user experience.• Creation and improvement of reports in IndustrySafe utilizing latest versions Crystal Reports

I originally entered the IT world as a developer at Vox Medica (now Calcium) where I reviewed, analyzed, created, and modified web and client applications, including reporting solutions (Crystal Reports). Eventually, I became the DBA of our SQL Server databases in addition to my developer duties. • Creation of a corporate intranet (internal company website) from the ground up. Worked on and oversaw (as supervisor) all aspects of its development. • Creation of a custom Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Goal was to tie together the organization’s various functions, such as human resources, finance, marketing, sales, and contacts to improve employee productivity in order to reduce overall costs. • Several websites and extranets for major pharmaceutical clients such as Pfizer, Ortho, Johnson & Johnson (Centocor), Biogen Idec, Wyeth, etc.
