As a classroom teacher, I have nine years special education classroom experience and four years of Title I classroom experience. I have ten years of previous educational consulting experience. My knowledge of reading theory and practice is extensive. I have also consulted in the areas of math, instructional practice, assessment, and positive behavior support. My areas of teacher certification include general science, reading specialist, elementary education, and special education, and I have additional course work and training in Japanese educational systems, mathematics, Wilson Reading System, and LETRS.Over the years, my educational responsibilities have included teaching elementary age children to read, write, speak and listen, gathering, synthesizing and transmitting information via classroom teaching and modeling, and large and small group presentations, trainings, and workshops.I have good deal of science knowledge, and I have completed course work in the biological sciences, earth sciences, chemistry and psychology.Additionally, I am a skilled problem solver with abilities to task analyze, organize, create models, analyze and understand systems, collaborate, brainstorm and elaborate within a team, and persevere to accomplish independent projects and personal goals.Finally, I have wide-ranging knowledge of and performance within the arts community, including music, theater and writing.
