My central interest is analytical chemistry —from fundamentals principles to real-world applications. My focus has always been on bioanalytical and clinical chemistry applications, but increasingly I also appreciate the potential of analytical chemistry to help make the world a better, safer place. My interests therefore extend to applying powerful but practical analytical methods to complex problems in food, agriculture, environmental and forensic testing – issues such as ensuring cleaner air, cleaner water, a safer environment, safer consumer products, reduced waste and production of safe, authentic and nutritious foods. Linked closely to these objectives is a commitment to developing fast, affordable, informative and environmentally sustainable (green) testing strategies. I founded MassWerx, Inc. in 2021 to offer analytical solutions that meet societal needs.
