Developed streamlined outsource manufacturing methodologies to reduce costs and improve system reliability and performance. Electronics and detectors produced in this lab powered the first simultaneous PET/MRI prototype device ever built as well as the first production PET/MRI ever built, the Siemens PET/MRI neuro insert.

    Led and operated the High Resolution Research Tomograph (HRRT) project. This was a $10M+ per year program including all aspects of research, development, regulatory, marketing, and sales. Mentored and trained new engineers and scientific staff. Performed and jointly published research with a wide variety of research centers worldwide on the topics of drug development, neuro and small animal imaging. The resulting program produced 17 HRRT systems which are widely regarded as the highest performance neuro PET systems ever built. These systems are leading pharmacokinetic neuro research in Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Stroke, Epilepsy, and a variety of dementias at the top neurological research institutes in the world including: Max Plank, Montreal Neuro, CAMH, NIH, TRIUMF, UC Irvine, Yale, Johns Hopkins, Turku, and Manchester.

Designed and implemented motion controls for transmission measurements for advanced PET scanners. Developed and published research on sub-nanosecond coincidence time alignment that optimized the performance of complex PET systems. These methods form the standard by which nearly all PET systems are time aligned today.
