With a career spanning more than four decades and completing over $400M in transactions, Mark currently serves as Senior Vice President in the Industrial Group of Avison Young's Atlanta office.Previously, Mark served as the Senior Vice President of Business & Industrial Development at Griffco Design/Build, Inc. In addition to his extensive experience and expertise in the commercial real estate market, Mark has a distinguished business development background with a highly successful track record in construction, engineering, and industrial development. Prior to joining Griffco, Mark served as the Senior Director of Business Development for Shimizu America's Industrial Development & Commercial Real Estate Investment pursuits. Shimizu Corporation, founded in 1804, is one of the largest industrial construction and engineering firms in the world with global annual sales exceeding $16 billion.Prior to joining Shimizu, Mark spent eight years as the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Tiernan & Patrylo, Inc., an industrial design-build firm founded in 1984. With Mark's business development leadership, Tiernan & Patrylo averaged 20% year-over-year growth during his tenure. In addition to this role, Mark simultaneously served as the head of the firm's industrial development and real estate business - Dividend Realty, LLC.Mark has bachelor's degrees in industrial engineering and Building Construction degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. Additionally, Mark has completed graduate studies in business, management, finance, and law.Mark holds the distinguished SIOR designation from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. Furthermore, Mark has achieved the prestigious CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation awarded by the CCIM Institute as well as becoming the first CCIM in Georgia to obtain the Institute's Development Specialist Distinction. Additionally, Mark was awarded the professional DBIA designation by the Design Build Institute of America.Mark serves as the 2024/2025 President of the exclusive Real Estate Group of Atlanta. He is also a member of NAIOP, the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.Mark and his wife, Rhonda, reside in Senoia, Georgia. They have four adult children and four grandchildren.
