Chief Technology Officer
CurrentResponsible for providing system leadership, and facilitating partnership working across the local health and social care economy on digital programmes, with diverse stakeholders including patients, NHS providers, local authorities, primary care and 3rd sector in order to deliver a better more integrated health and social care system.Develop and implement the GM Digital strategy and associated policies/plans, ensuring that these facilitate the delivery of the wider transformation vision and strategy.Providing expert advice and guidance on the interpretation, design and implementation of local and national ICT initiatives.Develop and implement strategies to support inter-operability including complex and challenging negotiation and influencing skills which may be required to ensure that the GM position is fully understood and represented and that future developments take account of service needs.Lead responsibility for evaluating best practice models, methods and interventions, making recommendations on the most appropriate approach to the delivery of GM Digital needs.Lead responsibility for the research and development of new methods of new technologies within the partnership and across GM, leading the GM TDA ensuring the development of industry best practices where appropriate e.g. Security, Architectural, Service Delivery and to promote and monitor adherence to technical architecture and strategic vision.Ensuring the robust management of allocated financial resources, long term financial planning and identifying cost saving opportunities.To lead procurement activities such as output based specification creation, market analysis, product assessment and selection ensuring detailed requirements traceability. Programme and technical management, providing and receiving highly complex information including negotiating with senior stakeholders and groups on difficult and controversial issues, such as GM asset review and future public cloud strategy.
