Head Of ItNhs Manchester Clinical Commissioning Groups Apr 2014 - Jun 2018My responsibilities include defining the IM&T strategy for the 3 CCGs taking into account national policy and local needs. I’m responsible for the delivery of the digital roadmap across the city of Manchester holding providers to account and increasing the levels of digital maturity and ensuring IT strategies align across the locality and play into the wider Greater Manchester agenda. I represent the CCGs at Greater Manchester level chairing the GM IT programme board which sets the priority for the IT capital programme across GM. I’m also deputy chair for the GM IT assurance group who oversee the IT delivery of our shared service. My achievements include the delivery of an integrated health and social care IT system. This includes system design, programme management, technical integration and the supporting agreements required to underpin the data sharing. The number of stakeholders and conflicting agendas presented a significant challenge. In order to deliver the solution it was necessary to understand and address a number of key objections and concerns. The system allows care providers access to the complete record across health and social care. Although the system is still in its infancy clinical operational cost savings in the first year were one million pounds with projected savings of in excess of 13 million per year primarily by a reduction in admissions and length of stay.I’m also jointly responsible for the scoping and design of a mobile workspace delivered using virtual desktop technologies. The platform will deliver significant change to both operational processes and support arrangements which ultimately will deliver a solution which is aligned to end user requirements, underpins future models of care and will see a significant support cost saving.I have total budget responsibility in excess of five million pounds and have delivered recurrent savings of £500,000 by tailoring the SLA and service delivery model. I’m also the IG lead for the CCG.
