Arkenstone Exploration is the wholly owned geologic consulting company of Mark Travis, CPG based in Northern Nevada, USA. Mr. Travis has experience exploring for and producing precious metals as well as battery metals and energy metals, namely: gold, silver, lithium, and uranium. He is a Director of the Geological Society of Nevada as well as a Director of the Nevada Minerals Exploration Coalition. He has a passion for geologic exploration and applying what he has learned to new projects and fields of study.

Production, exploration, and resources focused mine geology for several underground mining operations. All aspects of geology from day to day round mapping to in-mine exploration of new resources. Special focus on structural geologic modeling of controls on mineralization in conjunction with underground drift mapping.

Resource and block modeler for an underground Carlin-type gold deposit. Performing data validation and database construction. Constructing domains and ore zone manipulation within an evolving underground mine. Handling production validation and reconciliation against the block model. Producing a regular production block model estimation update for entire underground mine as well as localized drilling projects. As well as performing sequential gaussian simulations for a univariable model to quantify uncertainty.

Production hydro-geologist for Carlin-type underground gold mine at Cortez Hills mine site. Management of both underground and surface de-watering wells and piezometer network. Working in sync with both geology and engineering groups to successfully de-water ahead of active headings. Monthly reporting of underground hydrology status. As well as continuing to assist delineation drilling team when needed.

Production geologist for Carlin-type underground gold mine at the Cortez Hills mine site. Oversight of development drilling programs, comprehensive logging of core samples, and modeling underground geology on Vulcan. As well as, assisting ore control geologists in active headings to determine ore type and thus to which process stream it will be shipped. And other functions as needed by management, etc.

Oversee drilling/exploration operations in the Gas Hills Uranium District. Regulatory correspondence for open and active Drilling Notifications between Strathmore and the Wy Dept. of Environ. Quality and the BLM Lander Field Offices. And oversight of Starhmore's NRC Materials License associated with our PFN (prompt fission neutron) tool for down-hole in-situ assay of uranium in formation. Along with any geologic interpretation and digestion of collected drilling data and processing of recovered core for laboratory analysis. And as part of Strathmore's on-going baseline data collection for a Mine Permit and a Uranium Recovery Facility applications (WDEQ/BLM and NRC, respectively) I help with the field data collection of air/meteorology, soils, overburden, vegetation, archaeology, and regional geologic data for said permit applications.

Contract geologist assigned to gold exploration projects in Northern Nevada Carlin-type deposits. Work included a project SW of Jiggs, NV called Bailey Hills which was targeting the Devil's Gate limestone formation as a possible host rock for disseminated gold deposits.

First industry job right out of college... I was assigned to an Eklund RC drill rig to log its cuttings, assist in sighting in the rig at each new drill pad. The exploration area was near and adjacent to the Big Springs mine in the Independence Range north of Jerritt Canyon Mine area. I also assisted with regional soil sampling during the drill rig's days off, as well as a wide spaced (200m) gravity survey in the Tuscarora Mts. It was a very enriching experience as my first exposure to mineral geology work.
