D3MAX has teamed up with DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Southwest Airlines, LanzaJet and other companies to design and build a 10 ton/day corn stover to cellulosic ethanol pilot plant. LanzaJet will upgrade the ethanol produced by SAFFiRE to SAF with their proprietary Alcohol-to Jet technology. The project won a DOE award in 2021; DOE will fund 50% of the three-year, $15 million project. SAF demand is expected to exceed 100 billion gallons by 2050!
