Chief Technology Officer
In 2022, D3MAX created SAFFiRE Renewables, LLC to commercialize technology to convert corn stover and other agricultural residues to cellulosic ethanol. D3MAX has teamed up with DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Southwest Airlines, LanzaJet and other companies to design and build a 10 ton/day corn stover to cellulosic ethanol pilot plant. LanzaJet will upgrade the ethanol produced by SAFFiRE to SAF with their proprietary Alcohol-to Jet technology. The project won a DOE award in 2021; DOE will fund 50% of the three-year, $15 million project. SAF demand is expected to exceed 100 billion gallons by 2050!

Mark Yancey is the Chief Technology Officer of D3MAX, LLC. D3MAX provides proprietary technology to the ethanol industry for the conversion of corn fiber to cellulosic ethanol. D3MAX licenses its patented technology to dry mill ethanol plants throughout the US. Mark’s responsibilities include the development and design of the D3MAX process, and licensing the D3MAX technology to our customers.
