Spent half the summer with Markel where I learned about several of their underwriting departments. I completed a project related to facultative reinsurance purchases for their inland marine policies, and I presented this project to senior managementSpent half the summer with XS Brokers and I went on visits with insurance agents and carriers, learned firsthand how brokers manage their relationships with clients.

Shadowed experienced underwriters to learn practical methods of risk assessment.Successfully completed 3 different projects relating to underwriting.Experience ranged from personal auto, commercial auto, general commercial, and worker’s compensation lines.Presented the findings of my projects to Erie executives at the end of the summer.Contributed to a key-note panel discussion at an insurance convention during this time.

Directed a 17 person staff to maintain safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards for the duration of the season.Corresponded with HOA representatives and patrons daily to ensure ideal performance.Trained 10 first-year lifeguards who all passed Red Cross training with flying colors.
