Schedule new and followup visits for children with cancer and blood disorders; obtain prior authorizations for factor product orders and inpatient admissions; maintain multiple Excel spreadsheets for five physicians’ schedules and new visit scheduling; check daily insurance eligibility for patients coming in to be seen in clinic, ordering products, and/or receiving imaging; maintain patient medical record requests while adhering to HIPPA; attend and depart patient visits; scan and file charts into patients’ Electronic Medical Record (EMR); answer incoming urgent and non-urgent calls and direct them to the appropriate person(s); schedule and reschedule patients based on physicians’ schedule changes and chemotherapy requirements; create and mail letters regarding multiple patient-related issues to be mailed to families and outside physicians for correspondence; create and maintain paper charts for patients undergoing therapy.

Maintain a secure 19-bed unit, monitoring who enters and leaves the locked unit; answer and direct incoming calls; create and maintain paper charts for all patients on unit; maintain all supplies related to administrative aspects of patient care; organize copying and sending of patient charts upon discharge or transfer; direct families to the multitude of facilities available for their convenience; create and maintain daily copies of staff schedules for nursing administration; pull patient charts and return to health information services upon discharge or death of a patient; facilitate all paperwork required by New York State and facility for admission, vaccination, discharge, and expiration of patient.

Maintain vehicle safety and equipment; transport patients for emergent, non-emergent, and scheduled transfers and transports; maintain all required paperwork related to providing adequate patient care; provide patient care including basic life support, intravenous access, fluid delivery, and adult intubation for 911 transports and interfacility transfers; provide standby support for events.

Emergency Medical Technician: Basic (June 2008-September 2009); Emergency Medical Technician: Intermediate (June 2010- September 2012); Daily Health Director (June 2011- September 2012)Provide medical care for visitors, staff, and campers at the Cooperstown Dreams Park; as a Daily Health Director: maintain adequate staffing and equipment in different zones of the large park; arrange and provide transport to ill and injured people(s) to the hospital or urgent care facility; maintain all camper records of current physical and up-to-date vaccinations; administer and maintain camper medication as needed under the supervision of a medical director.

Assist in patient care; obtain vital signs on admission, discharge, and as needed during the patient’s stay; transport patients to imaging and upon admission to inpatient units; obtain finger-stick blood glucose, urine and stool samples; achieve venous access as needed; assist in procedures as needed; maintain adequate stocking of equipment in patient rooms and in stock room; perform EKGs; answering incoming ambulance calls over the radio and inform the physician and nurses

Create and maintain patient records; monitor 12-bed locked unit; answer and direct incoming phone calls; arrange and facilitate transfer, discharge, and admissions.
