At the end of the day, the most important thing is one's own happiness, so do what makes you happy.Growing up, I always wanted to be a vet because I loved animals. Then, one day, my mom told me I would have to put them down sometimes; needless to say, I no longer wanted to be a vet. Thus began my journey of trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I got older. Spoiler alert: I'm a legal adult and still don't know. I was keen on becoming an engineer because I have a passion and skill for building things; however, physics class and I did not get along well. With college fast approaching, I still had no idea what I wanted to do. I may possess many different skills, but that doesn't mean they would help me in the real world. How does winning 2nd place in a school fashion show help me get a career? It doesn't, but that didn't matter at the time. All that mattered was having fun and being a high school student. I tried out many different things in high school while I could, things that at the time were for fun or meeting a quota but now help me in life. Professional communication helped me learn about better communication skills and public speaking, such as giving a speech. Journalism helped me write in a more captivating way (well, I hope). Forensic science taught me wondrous things about the body and how to look for hidden clues. Theatre taught me how to fake it till I make it.
