I led our team of 6 recruiters in meeting departmental and staffing goals, filling over 500 positions annually for 80+ agency programs. I identified hiring needs and designed recruitment and marketing strategies. I coordinated utilization of our job posting platforms, reviewed new resumes and internal applications daily, tracked applicants via ICIMS Applicant Tracking Software, supervised interviews and scheduling, and drafted and distributed offer letters and onboarding information for all new hires. As a member of the HR department I supported employees with a range of HR-inquiries including benefits and worker’s compensation.

At Seneca, I supported the agency in all efforts to hire counselors, administrators, clinicians and leadership staff to implement unconditional care for our clients as a children’s mental health agency. This entailed involvement at every level of our application process, including reviewing resumes, conducting group and personal interviews, and contacting references. My small team supported the 1500+ members of staff with general HR needs, as well as assisted programs throughout California and Washington assess their staffing needs. I designed and ordered materials for our recruiting efforts at local and out-of-state universities, coordinated our attendance for 60+ events a year and personally attended many of them to connect with students about opportunities for meaningful jobs that impact local families and communities.

As an intern I was oversaw childcare and activities for children at Alpha House during Activity Hour. The shelter provides temporary housing and support services to homeless families, so the program utilizes this play hour for one-on-one meetings with parents in the program. I managed 2 high-school aged volunteers and together we facilitated sports, art, and music activities during this hour, and engaged with free play with the children ages 2 through 16.

Help CAPS Catch Up was a collaborative campaign spearheaded by myself and 4 other University of Michigan students involved in an activism course. We drafted our proposal for change, recognizing that the mental health resource center (CAPS) on our campus was underfunded for the needs of the large student population. We attended student body meetings and open meetings with the University President and faculty and established a GoFundMe campaign to share our research and proposal to increase funding for CAPS. The campaign was highlighted in 3 articles by The Michigan Daily.

The LSAY seeks to understand the impact of early learning – especially in science – on mid-life and later decisions about education, health, career choice, and related life course matters. As a research assistant I coded survey responses and completed data entry, including coding survey responses for a partnership for a NASA research project. Because participants entered the project in the 1980's, this also involved tracking participants across the country to gather the widest margin of data and survey responses.

I collaborated with the leadership of Primerus to create a new employee training program with an accompanying video training series. I supported the recruitment and retention efforts by tracking the membership of law firms firms, and completed various research projects for members of staff. I proposed and implemented new online and social media branding strategies, including developing the company’s use of LinkedIn Groups for members.

Through a course-related internship with PCAP, I developed an efficient communications system for the program to manage the high volume of physical mail the program received. I organized and oversaw volunteer efforts for the set up and execution of the annual Art Auction, in which art created by incarcerated participants is auctioned to raise funds for the Annual Art Exhibition event.

I ensured guests enjoyed quality customer service and great food in a clean and welcoming environment.
