I began my career as a journalist covering collegiate athletics at the University of Colorado. I found myself increasingly drawn to the deeper issues within the world of sports. I yearned for work that reached and featured undeserved audiences. With this in mind, I chose to seek out a new career path, one in which I could commit myself to serving and positively impacting others. This led me to the realm of education. As a special educator, my passion lies in supporting students that have been historically marginalized due to their culture, language, and socioeconomic or disability status. My classroom is a supportive learning environment where my students and I encourage each other to wonder and discover. I strive to be a warm demander, setting high expectations for and forming relationships with my students.
