  • Nxp
    Product Manager System Design Methodology
    Nxp Jan 2009 - Dec 2010
From 2009 onwards, our department was merged with our partners in Research and I got the role of Product Manager System Design Methodology in the overall System-DE program of NXP. My major task was to identify new stakeholders in the BU's Identification, Automotive and High Performance Mixed Signal after NXP had split off the BU's Home and Mobile & Personal, our major customers. We engaged with all. We adopted the product to the needs of the changed NXP organization and successfully introduced the methodology in various new design projects.
  • Nxp Semiconductors
    Development Manager System Design Methodology
    Nxp Semiconductors Jan 2000 - Dec 2008
Built from scratch an international expert team to define and develop the underlying methodology and tools of the Philips / NXP System & Software Design Environment. My role was always a combination of program & project management and resource & competence management: As resource manager of the team in Eindhoven (9fte + students), I was creating job roles, taking the people on board, doing appraisals and negociating salaries with HRM, coaching people and signing-off development plans, maintaining the project pipeline and resource allocation. As competence manager for the whole multi-site department (+45fte), it was my responsibility to establish, drive, own and manage the system design methodology domain to its excellence and to manage the technical competences of the staff. Built strong partnerships with stakeholders, EDA suppliers, universities (TUe, K.U.Leuven, ...) and research institutes (IMEC, ...) As program & project manager "System Design Methodology" in SSDE (+16fte), I devised the departental strategy and subsequent program in alignment with key partners and suppliers, initiated projects and supervised as project principle and /or project manager, I acted as direct report for technical experts assigned to the program.During this period, I represented Philips & NXP in European projects and initiatives as coordinator and co-author "Verification and Validation" chapter of the Medea + Design Automation roadmap 2005, as Workpackage leader "IP Integration Verification" in European project SPRINT (2005 – 2009) which stands for Open Soc Design Platform for Reuse and Integration of IPs.In this period, I also got to opportunity to coach people outside my own team. I acted as guide for people attending the Philips Semiconductor Journey (2007), as observer in the NXP development center for early career potentials and dual ladder candidates and as coach of a few candidates afterwards in the trajectory towards promotion (2008-2009).
