International Educator experienced in immigration advising, programming, and cultural support for international students. Particularly passionate about the intersection of international student advising and career development. My passion for other cultures led me to a career in International Education where I have the opportunity to work with international students from around the world on a daily basis. I am dedicated to supporting international students from the time of arrival, throughout their studies, and into their period of authorized employment. I have years of experience with immigration advising and international student programming in a variety of universities of different types and sizes. I have also been an active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators as a member, presenter, trainer and regional leader. In my career, I have been the lead person in my office on issues and training regarding international student employment. I enjoy helping international students navigate the internship and job search in the U.S., and I like demystifying the international student hiring process for employers. I believe international students can be a wonderful asset to employers in the U.S., so I am particularly drawn to the overlap between the fields of international student advising and career development.Specialties include: International Student Advising, F-1 and J-1 immigration regulations, cross-cultural communication, intercultural training, career development, collaborating with career services, supporting international students in the job and internship search, and assisting employers with hiring international students
