I began working at CMI in the early 80's under the guidance of my mother Bonnie Bartlett and at the helm and direction of George Benvegno Sr. Working as a production line worker and soon after gained the secretarial position. I was one to ask many questions and wanted to learn everything about the business as I found it fascinating, so I did. I was able to back up the accountant by keeping the books (doing payroll, making deposits, paying metal bills by wire, etc...). Soon after I managed the incoming production in the late 80's and went on to manage the office as well. We hired Charles Smith to manage the plant and I started doing more with customers. It wasn't long before I was Office Manager and Customer Service Manger and I enjoyed that role for more than 12 years. I now enjoy the buyers side of the business and although I am not head of Quality, you will find my hand in several aspects of our Quality and Environment Management System. I hope to continue my efforts with Colonial Metals, Inc and the Team that I have grown to value as an extended family, for many years to come!
