First 5 LA is a child advocacy organization that invests tobacco tax funds in programs throughout LA county to provide the best start for children from prenatal to age 5 and their families. -Managed “Healthy Births Initiative” case management program for low-income pregnant and parenting women. California Family Health Council (CFHC) promotes quality reproductive health care for Californians by providing clinic support initiatives. - Progressed through a series of promotions to manage $13 million in Title X federal family planning funds distributed to 65 sub-grantee agencies with 250 clinic sites. • Supervised 7 area managers all over California, ensuring compliance with Title X requirements and maximization of citizen benefits. • Planned and oversaw the addition of 42 new clinic sites to the Title X system, expanding family planning services to thousands more low-income Californians. • Developed tools and processes to standardize monitoring of grantee agencies, leading to greater understanding and consistent application of federal guidelines among area managers.• Designed templates for web-based grantee agency progress reports, including validation checks, and automatic calculations. Worked closely with IT division to implement these checks and calculations, resulting in increased user satisfaction, fewer reporting errors, and less time spent reviewing reports.• Led annual Title X refunding process for family planning agencies, including development of the application and staff tool for reviewing the application. Led annual refunding workshops.• Wrote several sections of CFHC’s annual Title X refunding application to federal government and edited the application.• Monitored grantee compliance by conducting site evaluations and reviewing progress and expenditure reports.• Provided technical assistance to grantees in areas such as clinic flow analysis, budget management, and systems for tracking outreach to clinic visits.• Developed tool kit for agencies to provide family planning and chlamydia screening services outside of the clinic setting; presented on this topic at the 2005 American Public Health Association Conference.• Wrote requests for proposals and developed proposal scoring tools for teen pregnancy prevention programs.

Georgia School Age Care Association (GSACA) is a member based, statewide professional organization for those who work with school-age children in after school programs. -Managed and coordinated all aspects of a Georgia Department of Education contract to provide training and technical assistance to 26 after school programs throughout the state.• Developed and delivered workshops on topics including adolescent development, family involvement, and community service for administrators and after school program staff. • Assessed quality of after school programs in the areas of health and safety, human relationships, and environment; worked with program administrators to develop improvement plans.
