Occupational Health Coordinator
• Manages and administers employees on leave with escalated and more complex leaves that typically involve concurrent absence, Workers' Compensation and Disability issues for a workforce of more than 2000. • Routinely generate and track reports to aid in workforce planning for department heads, risk management and human resources.• Consistently report injuries and illnesses to SFMC Board and OSHA as required by California law. • Maintain the Transitional Work Program and prepares all necessary reports required for the Associate Safety Assurance Program• Lead the coordination of the Safe Patient Handling program which includes conducting training and providing guidance to managers and feedback as necessary to ensure the program is carried out according to the hospital’s vision and mission.• Manage claims according to established policy and procedures, plan documents and State and Federal laws and regulations. • Establish action plans based on case facts, best practices, protocols and regulatory issues. Ensures complete and accurate documentation of claim decisions. • Provide information to outside counsel and third party administrators. Recommends course of action to management when settlement is requested from third party administrator or outside counsel.
