Parasitologist specialised in Leishmania and leishmaniasis disease. My academic research has focused on the establishment of a dormant or quiescent stage as a survival skill that allows the parasite to overcome the stress encountered within the host and pharmacotherapy. My current interests are Bioinformatics and Metabolomics as tools to characterize metabolic changes in a broader spectrum of living organisms.
