Received an Open Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of the West Indies (UWI). Fulfilled 4-year contractual service at the Ministry of Agriculture as a Planning Officer with responsibility for coordinating the Technical Cooperation Unit, followed by 4 years in the private sector as Company Secretary in a family business. Entered the field of International Development at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) as Rural Development Specialist, and designed a gender-sensitive agricultural extension methodology for enhancing the participation of women in the rural spaces. This active research led to an MPlil. A Masters in Business Administration was later completed while managing the European Development Fund in the Ministry of Planning and successfully negotiating a TT$200 million grant allocation under the 10th EDF. Currently at the Caribbean Development Bank appraising scores of grant-funded projects to ensure quality of entry into the Basic Needs Trust Fund portfolio and mainstreaming gender equality into the Bank's financing instruments and programming. Enrolled part-time in a Doctorate programme at the UWI, Cave Hill, Barbados
