As Director of the Connecticut Teacher Residency Program, I was focused on diversifying Connecticut's educators while providing quality hands-on training through an alternate route to certification program with a full-year residency and 18 months of coursework. My role included fundraising, policy work, creating partnerships, budget development and program development and expansion. In this role, I enjoyed working with a myriad of external partners including districts, universities, state agencies, funders and legislators to ensure CT-TRP continued to grow and addresses teacher diversity, equity and inclusion in our school districts.

Hartford, Connecticut

In this role I served on the executive leadership team for the CREC Magnet Schools where we oversaw the development and student success of 19 schools from PK - 12 established to desegregate Hartford's public school system. I led the team of curriculum supervisors and academic coaches charged with creating and implementing curricula, resources and strategies to support a diverse student body; managed professional development for certified and non-certified staff; and provided guidance and leadership to our team of administrators across the district.

Bristol, Connecticut

In this role, I led the adoption and implementation of the Common Core State Standards across all schools PK - 12; coached mathematics teachers at the middle and high school levels to use innovative strategies and new resources to advance mathematical learning and led a team of elementary coaches to transform curriculum and instruction at that level. I collaborated with the curriculum department, assessment office and building administrators to deliver professional development to parents and staff and helped to build programming and outfit classrooms for two new K-8 schools.

Hartford, Connecticut

In this role I served as the Education Manager for the Bureau of Curriculum and Instruction and the secondary mathematics consultant. I led the academic department initiatives including the design and development of mathematics, science and social studies standards; managed the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; led the Mathematics and Science Partnership grant application, award and project monitoring; collaborated across disciplines to co-create standards, trainings and strategy in the area of cross-content literacy; walk throughs; formative, summative and statewide assessments; high school reform; certification regulations; and performed accreditation and program reviews K-18.

In this role I served to transform teaching and learning in the areas of mathematics and educational technology for schools PK-12. I worked with administrators and the board of education to create and implement the first technology plan that transformed how educators were able to set expectations for learning and deliver instruction.
