After graduating from Canberra University with a Batchelor of Arts in Information Management in 2001, I joined the National Archives of Australia (NAA) working in the Collection Management. I was interested in the implementation of the new recordkeeping system and requested a transfer to the Transfer, Lending and Location (TLL) helpdesk. In this position, I provided support and training to the Archives’ staff using RecordSearch and TLL modules. I then moved across to the Record Handling Unit as a team leader supervising a team of 18. In September 2003, I transferred within NAA to an outpost position at the Darwin office as Preservation Project Manager. This project finished in June 2006. Wanting to stay in Darwin, I applied and won a position as a Library Technician with the Northern Territory Government, Department of Justice, Supreme Court library which provides support to the Judges of Supreme Court and Magistrates. In July 2007, I joined the Northern Territory Archives as AO4 – Access and Promotions Officer managing the archival records issue service to government and community clients. In June 2008, I successfully won a position with the Northern Territory Library as a Reference Librarian in Research and Collections. In May 2011 I joined the Department of Health Library Services as the Electronic services librarian where I manage and coordinate all activities associated with the delivery of a comprehensive, best practice electronic library and information service to all clients, to ensure access to relevant information.
