Under Facebook’s ASR (Artificial Speech Recognition) team I worked with product, engineering and operations teams. My work with machine learning, specifically relating to NLU (Natural Language Understanding), supported products such as Oculus and Portal.Point of contact between Leads and engineering. Maintained documentation up to date in accordance with the needs of our engineering and feedback from linguists. Managed the Spanish and Portuguese teams, based across 4 countries. Both teams exceeded goals for production hours each month and both out-performed all other language teams. Supported the expansion of the team by creating the training material for the Leads in other offices.

Consulted with PG&E clients on energy use and cost reduction methods. Presented information on government sponsored programs for low income communities, such as the CARE program.Advised qualifying clients and guided them through the various programs being offered. Assisted and enrolled the most clients during my time with the company. Was able to effectively communicate with Spanish speaking communities and assisted in their enrolment.

Supported Twitter’s Safety team and worked with with the platforms Spanish and Portuguese markets to ensure that users on the platform were adhering to Twitter’s safety policies. Provided insights that helped the social media platform structure and implement safety policies. Multilingual abilities broadened the cases I worked on and helped me spot and report trends better. As a high performer, I surpassed the weekly target goals and closed over 500 cases a week.

Personal assistant to the program’s Student Coordinator. Assisted in organizing alumni events and panels. Coordinated student interviews and follow-ups. The Alumni Reception (2011) Helped managed the catering and décor of the reception hall. Made sure that the food and tables were ordered and that we had enough food for everyone. Contacted IAP alum via phone and email, and sent invitations to current IAP students. Was in charge of managing RSVP. Worked in the reception desk at the event.Over Night Host Program (2010 & 2012)Gave a presentation on my experience as a student at Cal and answered questions to students and parents. Gave a tour of the campus.Selection Committee (2013) Assisted in administering parking passes and attended meeting to provide the committee with tips. Selection Interviews (2012 & 2013) Worked at the front desk made sure students received paperwork to fill out. Called prospective students who were late for their interviews.

Worked twith Filipino student magazine, and assisted in creating and hosting events for the magazine.Helped recruit speakers and performers for the events. Fundraised money for an anual AB540 scholarship.

Interviewed clients to identify if they qualified for asylum and helped them fill out legal documents and applications.Under the supervision of legal lawyers I composed declarations for multiple clients who were seeking asylum for political, religious, LGBT, or group affiliated reasons. In addition, I translated Spanish written documents to English and vice versa for lawyers to present to the client and the court. Worked with a psychologist and served as an interpreter during client sessions. The clients were often indigenous people from South America who only spoke Mum or very little Spanish.
