I'm proud to serve as the Executive Director of Sustainable NCW, whose mission is to promote environmental stewardship and social sustainability through education, collaboration and inspiration.Writing is a passion. I am an accomplished freelance journalist and grant writer. I cover the school beat for the local newspaper and contribute to regional magazines as a freelancer. I also write creative nonfiction.I possess a natural science background with degrees in ecology from Princeton University and Central Washington University. I worked on a variety of wildlife ecology projects with the Forest Service.I was the Director of Development at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, helping this nonprofit raise funds for world-class arts performance and arts education opportunities in north central Washington. I was also the Foundation Administrator for Cascade Medical Foundation, helping with all aspects of fundraising and community engagement for Cascade Medical, a nonprofit critical access hospital. My character has been developed by a steady work ethic and a focus to achieve high goals. My decades of competitive marathon and trail running, coaching, and honing my writing craft define my perspective and how I tackle projects, with energy, dedication, team spirit and prioritizing excellent communication.
