With a degree in Environmental Engineering from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Marlene Antunes has dedicated the last 15 years to the water sector in Portugal. Her professional experience started in the consultancy area, having developed plans, studies and projects in the supply and sanitation area, both at national and international level. She joined the BEWG Group (PT) staff in 2018, taking on the role of business developer, as part of the team responsible for developing strategic proposals for the group's companies, along with technical and engineering support to the various contracts in the water sector held by the company. Some of the many projects in which she participated include the international contracts won in Angola, which marked the beginning of the group's internationalisation process.In 2021 she completed the course "Advanced Renewable Energy Program in the Water Sector" of the Águas Livres Academy of EPAL, which allowed her to acquire, in an aggregate and coherent way, technical and management skills in the field of various renewable energies, namely photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind, hydro and biogas, and in the development of energy transition and decarbonisation strategies in the water sector and in general.With the broad vision that characterises an environmental engineer, Marlene believes that the synergies of the different sectors of the environment, mainly water - waste - energy, have potential for innovation and will be the way towards the sustainability of the society we want to develop and leave for future generations.
