I coordinated the work on a national action plan for the protection of vital societal functions and critical infrastructure (such as energy supply and ICT). To do that I led, engaged and communicated with different public and private organizations like municipalities, county administrative boards and companies . I also cooperated on an international level, mainly within the EU and Nato. This really gave me an insight into how EU works and what it takes to have a successful cooperation in this context.

I led and coordinated the unit responsible for authorization and regulation of explosives (hazardous materials). I set the goals, made the priorities and evaluated the outcome of the group's work. In order to give better service I developed rutines that resulted in shorter time for handling of applications. Expert Explosives, November 2005 - April 2008I developed and simplified rutines for approval of fireworks. The goal was to increase the safety and security in handling explosives. That is why I communicated a lot with media and the general public. I also trained and informed people, companies and public agencies to spread knowledge on dealing safely with explosives to decrease the number of incidents. Assignment on Inspection, Mars 2005 - November 2005This resulted in a proposal on how inspection of safety advisors for transport of dangerous goods can be developed.

Swedish Maritime AdministrationAs head of the Swedish delegation in one of the sub-committies of IMO (the UN International Maritime Organization), I contributed to the development of the international safety and environmental regulations of transport of dangerous goods at sea. This experience made it very clear to me how important it is with international cooperation to solve the environmental issues. The UN platform was used as a basis to implement and achieve real change. I also chaired a number of international working groups to develop the safety regarding hazardous materials at sea and in ports. I managed projects to develop the Memorandum of Understanding for transport of dangerous goods in the Baltic as well as Swedish national regulations on safety and environment. I learnt how to negociate and compromice in order to achieve the task and common goal that we had set.
