Rotation 1: Wireless Core Platforms - DevOps

Thesis: Harnessing RF Energy for Sustainable Power in Ambient IoT Devices. I worked as a graduate research assistant in the Data Communications Group at UBC under the supervision of Dr. Lutz Lampe. I was supported by Sierra Wireless, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and Mitacs Canada. My research focused on protocol development for low-power, low-complexity IoT devices, wireless sensor networks, and RF energy harvesting.

I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for two terms, instructing Computer Networks. In this role, I led tutorial sessions, assessed assignments, and offered personalized mentorship to over 150 students. The curriculum included application layer protocols and services, transport layer protocols and services, network layer protocols and routing algorithms, data link layer protocols and local area networks, wireless and mobile networks, network security and management, and network analysis utilizing tools such as Wireshark and Python.

Collaborated with mechanical contractors, engineers, and equipment suppliers to devise efficient and effective HVAC systems for commercial applications. Responsibilities included bid coordination, equipment quoting, customer relationship management, and fostering a network of mechanical professionals to drive collaboration and project success.

Oversaw HVAC projects from bidding to installation stages during a summer internship. Engaged in discussions with Mechanical and Electrical engineers, contractors, and building owners to provide project updates. Verified the accuracy of HVAC system designs to ensure project completion according to specifications

Supported sales engineers by assisting in HVAC system and control designs, equipment selection, and quote preparation. Additionally, I managed bid calendars, facilitated customer communication, and conducted site visits for ongoing projects. Notably, I concluded the internship with a detailed presentation on ASHRAE 90.1 - 2016 requirements, delivered to a diverse audience of over 30 Trane engineers and estimators from across Western Canada
