I get the privilege of working with young children diagnosed with Autism. On a daily basis I work with clients to help them improve behaviors and basic functioning skills to help prepare them to go out into schools. Alongside that, I aide those who have transitioned into school and help them adapt to their new settings. The goal is to help them become more of their own individual and perform task on their own.

As a lead teacher, I create and implement lesson plans that are engaging and challenging for young students. Working with kids in grades that range from first to fourth, I work on providing an environment that works for all different performing levels. Also, I work on achieving the goals set by step up to quality that help make the learning environment safe and fun for all of those who attend the center.

Assisted lead teachers in their lesson plans, activities, and running the classroom all around. There was also the responsibility to running the classroom if the lead teacher was not present for the day. As a teachers aide, I helped with keeping the environment of the classroom calming and appropriate for the learning needs of the students.

As the camp counselor for this camp, you also were a tutor for one to two students (high school level). The counselor was given their students' IEPs and worked closely with the goals that were written for the students to achieve by the end of this extended school year program.
