As a full-time on-site contractor for the Environmental Engineering Branch of the Environmental Compliance Division of the Directorate of Safety, Health and Environment at Aberdeen Proving Ground, I continued the work begun during my ORISE Fellowship in a fully professional capacity. I fulfilled and maintained all compliance requirements for the two Wastewater, two Drinking Water treatment and multiple Stormwater pre-treatment systems and outfalls at APG. For the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTPs), I reviewed all 24-hour operations and maintenance information to ensure compliance and make any necessary adjustments to operations to comply with Safe Drinking Water Act standards. I also produced annual Consumer Confidence Reports for distribution to all residents and building occupants served by the treatment plants. Provided all compliance reporting to the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and applied for special Water Appropriations Permits from Chesapeake tributaries to support special testing activities at the proving ground to support deployment in Army field locations.For the Federally-Owned Treatment Works (FOTW) on the APG complex, I provided support to the 24-hour operators and reviewed all real-time data to ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act for discharge to the Chesapeake Bay.
