I provide technical support to a medicinal plant project in Southern Africa focused on the sustainable use and trade of Pelargonium sidoides, as well as a project that aims to improve the detection of trafficked products at points of departure using automated detection technology in Africa to reduce the ability of criminal groups to carry out and profit from poaching and trafficking protected animals and their body parts originating from or transiting Africa. I am also involved with a new project utilising AI technology to combat the illegal succulent trade in Southern Africa.

I was a Junior Professional Officer at Traffic where I actively monitored and investigated wildlife trade and provided information for effective conservation policies and programmes. I provided technical support to the UNDP-GEF project focused on Pelargonium sidoides; a new project focusing on utilising AI technology to prevent illegal wildlife trade; and similarly, utilising AI technology to combat the illegal succulent trade in Southern Africa.

I was an intern for the WWF Environmental Leaders Graduate Programme and was hosted by Traffic for the duration of my internship.

I was a teaching assistant for the third year module, Population Ecology. My responsibilities included the design and demonstration of practical sessions, liaising between students and lecturers, and grading of all practical reports.

I was a teaching assistant for the third year module, Conservation Ecology, where I was responsible for setting up and presenting practical sessions, liaising between students and lecturers, and grading of all practical reports.

I was a marker for a first and second year module where my responsibilities included the grading of undergraduate students’ practical reports and semester tests.
